Navigating the Interview Process for 3D Printing and Print Management Jobs
The tech industry is full of opportunities right now, but finding the right one can be tricky. 3D printing and print management jobs are some of the most in-demand jobs out there, and they require a bit more preparation than other positions. With these tips, though, you'll be ready to ace your next interview and secure your dream job!
Start with your CV
Before you begin applying for jobs, it's important to make sure that your CV is up to par. A well-written CV can help set the tone for an interview and show recruiters that you're serious about your career goals. Here are some tips for creating an effective CV:
- Use a CV template. There are plenty of templates available online, so look through them until you find one that works best for your needs (and make sure it matches the job description).
- Make sure it's easy to read. Your CV should be easy-to-read and cleanly organised so that recruiters don't have any trouble understanding what kind of experience or skillset they'll get if they hire you! This means using proper grammar and spelling throughout the document as well as making sure there aren't too many words per line--it should all fit onto one page without any problems if possible!
- Include relevant education history & work history . You don't necessarily need both sections in every case but try listing out past experiences related specifically toward whatever field(s) interest most closely aligns with positions being sought out.
Dressing for success
- Dress professionally.
- Wear something that fits the company culture.
- Don't wear anything too casual or formal for the interview, but also avoid wearing anything too trendy or flashy. If you aren't sure what's appropriate, ask an employee at the company what they would wear to an interview and then dress one level above that standard (so if they said khakis and a button-up shirt, go with slacks).
- Wear comfortable clothes that won't distract from your interview or make you feel uncomfortable during it! You don't want to be fidgeting throughout your meeting because your pants are too tight or they're uncomfortable shoes--that will only make things worse! And remember: don't go overboard with perfume/cologne!
Be prepared and know the company
Before you walk into the interview, have a basic understanding of the company. This can be done by doing research online or asking friends who work there. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- What is their mission?
- What products and services do they offer?
- How long has this company been around for and what is their culture like (e.g., open office space vs cubicles)?
- Who are their competitors in this space, both direct competitors as well as indirect ones.
Once you've identified some of these key things about your prospective employer's business model, it's time to dig deeper into their financials so that when asked about them during an interview question such as "what do you know about us" - not only will your answer sound credible but also make sense within context of everything else we've discussed thus far!

Be prepared for tough questions
- Be prepared for tough questions.
- Don't be afraid to ask the interviewer questions, too!
Don't forget to ask questions yourself!
One of the most important parts of any job interview is asking questions. It's easy to get caught up in answering questions and not think about what you want to ask, but remember: it's your chance to get information about the company and role that will help determine if this position is right for you.
Here are some tips for making sure you don't forget anything:
- Ask about the company culture. You want an employer who values collaboration, so look for opportunities where people work together on projects rather than separately from one another (e.g., working remotely). If possible, ask about how often employees meet face-to-face in person as well as online via video conferencing services like Skype or Google Hangouts--this can give you an idea of how much time they spend together outside of work hours!
- Ask about advancement opportunities within the organisation; does this role lead into other positions within 3D printing field? If so, how long do those positions usually stay open before being filled? What kind skills do they require? This will help determine whether there might be another opening soon so that if it doesn't work out here now then perhaps down further down line somewhere else might eventually become available instead.
