ROLE DETAILS
My client is a specialist additive manufacturing business focussed on large format printing. They are now looking to add to their application team to find an engineer who is focused on 3D CAD design and technical customer care.
- Execute engineering and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) activities for both On-Demand Projects and Technology Benchmarks, including:
- Material selection and recommending high-level printing strategies.
- Redesign for Additive Manufacturing, CAD development, and engineering tasks.
- Collaborate with Operations to finalize and coordinate the printing strategy.
- Perform mechanical design of tooling or final components for industries such as marine, automotive, aerospace, and composite/thermoplastic processing.
- Assist customers with installed clusters by supporting their application engineering activities, evaluating parts or potential projects, and offering guidance on Design for Additive Manufacturing and design/printing strategies.
- Oversee daily operations with the Manufacturing Partner, ensuring on-time, quality, and cost-efficient delivery from suppliers.
- Provide project management support, ensuring effective coordination and execution of tasks.
- Collaborate with the Sales Department to evaluate presale requests and leads, analysing customer files and technical requirements, and proposing potential technical solutions, including finite element analysis (FEA) simulations.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
- At least 2 years of experience in the design for manufacturing
- Excellent knowledge of CAD tools for solid/parametric modelling
- Good knowledge of CAD 2D and assembly design
- Nice to have: Good knowledge of CATIA
- Nice to have: Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 / 9100 Standard
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical field
- Good proficiency in both written and spoken English and Italian, appreciated knowledge of French or German language
- Excellent interpersonal skills, predisposition for teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
